Loose Lips Might Sink Ships + A Little Blast From the Past

I’ve been in what seems to be a creative rut lately but I’m hoping since spring is right around the corner things start to shape up. I made this WWII inspired poster because I was flipping through some old files and found this anchor I made about two years ago. I typed in WWII posters on google and Loose Lips Might Sink Ships was the first thing that popped up with some super cheesy illustration of a ship sinking, so I decided to take it into my own hands and throw a little something together with a simple Nom Nowish spin to it. Also I’ve been doing a little reading on some typefaces on the website Fonts In Use and it opened me up to the world of the ever awesome typeface “Brothers” and it’s just a really interesting read if you’re feeling in a rut about which typeface to choose. Also I recently “acquired” of all of the Hoefler & Frere Jones typefaces and let me just say, those dudes RULE the typography world. The sans serif here is called Cyclone and it is on it’s way to the top for me right along side Knockout which I will be posting all about on monday.
I MIGHT even screen print a few of these this weekend we’ll see what else I can come up with.
Here’s also a new/old iPhone wallpaper with matching “Lock” and “Home” screens. I posted this work slowly background/poster awhile back before our show at TrickGo. It’s one of my favorite posters that I have ever made mostly because of the ridiculously simple message that it conveys, and now I have that constant reminder on my iPhone. If ya dig it, just click it.
